According to Bollywood Hungama, ‘Mr Bachchan’ was granted a U/A certificate by the CBFC, but only after several modifications were made to the film. One of the most significant changes involved the removal of a poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha during the rolling titles. As per the CBFC’s directive, this poster was replaced with one featuring Amitabh Bachchan alongside his wife, Jaya Bachchan.

In addition to the poster swap, the CBFC required other changes to ensure the film met the necessary guidelines. A disclaimer was added at the beginning of the film, clarifying that it is a work of fiction and bears no resemblance to any real persons or places. A scene where a young child was depicted smoking a beedi was also censored, with the beedi being replaced by a pencil. Furthermore, a brief shot of blood on the floor was removed, and certain offensive words and abuses were either muted or replaced.
After these modifications were implemented, the CBFC passed the film on August 13, just two days before its release. With a runtime of 158 minutes, or 2 hours and 38 minutes, Mr Bachchan is expected to be a major draw for audiences, particularly as it is an official Tollywood-style remake of the 2018 Ajay Devgn-starrer ‘Raid’.
