Pilot project on right to services in Maharashtra districts | India News – Times of India



MUMBAI: The Pilot project prepared under the Maharashtra Rights to Public Services Act- 2015 will ensure that various services of the government are taken to the citizens. Such a pilot project will also be implemented in other districts of the state, said chief minister Mr. Eknath Shinde here, today.
The chief minister on Thursday inaugurated the pilot project for the effective implementation of the Maharashtra Rights to Public Services Act- 2015in Kolhapur district through video conferencing.The medical education and special assistance minister and the guardian minister of Kolhapur Hasan Mushrif, state excise minister Shambhuraj Desai, the vice president of Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER) and the legislator Prakash Abitkar, the Pune division Commissioner for Maharashtra State Commission for Rights to Services Dilip Shinde, district magistrate Amol Yedge, commissioner of municipal corporation K ManjuLakshmi, Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit, chief executive officer Kartikeyan S. were also present. Chief Commissioner of the Maharashtra State Commission for Right to Services Manu Kumar Shrivtastav, chief secretary Sujata Saunik, Divisional Commissioner of Pune Chandrakant Pulkundwar, divisional commissioners and district magistrates of other divisions and districts of the state participated through the medium of video conferencing.
Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Mr. Shinde said that on the auspicious day while celebrating the 78th Independence Day of the nation, we are starting a pilot project for the effective implementation of Maharashtra Rights to Public Services Act- 2015 from the place where great philanthropist like Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj was born.
He said that this Act came into force in the year 2015 and the government has included thousands of schemes under it so as to provide easy services to the people of the state with greater speed. However, he lamented that the people are not yet aware about the Act to the extent they needed to be. He said that such services should be effectively implemented and the law should be taken to the people. He congratulated the district administration of Kolhapur district for starting this pilot project. He also extended his greetings to legislative Prakash Abitkar, guardian minister Hasan Mushrif and state excise minister ShambhuRaj Desai for their continuous follow- up for getting the project sanctioned.
He said that the responsibility taken up by the district administration to take the Service Guarantee Act to every citizen of the district is in fact a matter to be appreciated, adding that now various schemes of the government will be reaching door to door, effectively.
He further said that various services initiated by the district administration including the service at the door steps, Aaple Sarkar web portal, RTS mobile application, WhatsApp chatbot, one model Aaple Sarkar service center in every taluka, QR code concept for grievances of the people, the planning for standardizing the offices and accelerating the work of administration are applaudable. The Chief Minister also released a documentary giving information about the project. The dignitaries present on the occasion also released a book related to publicity of various topics.
In his presidential address, medical education and special assistance minister and guardian minister of Kolhapur Hasan Mushrif thanked the state government for selecting Kolhapur for implementing the law effectively, while minister Shambhuraj Desai said that the law that was already in existence, is now being effectively implemented. He said that in the session of the state legislative assembly, local legislator Abitkar had presented the ‘call attention’ for successful implementation of Maharashtra Rights to Public Services Act- 2015 and after that the decision to start the pilot project in Kolhapur district was taken.
District magistrate Amol Yedge in his introductory speech of the program explained in detail about the Maharashtra Rights to Public Service Act whereas sub- divisional officer Harish Dharmik proposed the vote of thanks. All the heads of various departments, teachers of selected schools and colleges, Sarpanchs and women were present in large numbers.
