Kolkata doctor rushes back from stir site, fails to save cardiac-arrest patient, is thrashed | India News – Times of India



A junior doctor at SSKM and a cop were allegedly assaulted by patients’ kin on Sunday prompting police to detain three from the hospital.
The doctor, Subrata Shur, who was protesting over RG Kar incident on SSKM premises, had rushed to check the 15-year-old patient suffering from cancer after being informed that he suffered a cardiac arrest.
However, the patient could not be revived after which Shur was thrashed by the relatives.The patient’s cancer had progressed to metastasis stage. The SSKM’s fifth-floor trauma care unit was also damaged, sources said.
