Engineering aspirant found dead in Kota hostel | India News – Times of India



KOTA: An 18-year-old boy was found dead in a suspected condition in his hostel room’s bathroom at Old Rajiv Gandhi Nagar under Jawahar Nagar police station area of Kota city on Monday morning.
Following his parents’ refusal to conduct a post-mortem, the body was handed over to family members for last rites, and no case was lodged in the matter.
The deceased teenager was identified as Kushagra Rastogi (18), a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.He had been preparing from a coaching institute in Kota for admission to an engineering college since April this year and was living in a hostel room in Jawahar Nagar police station area of the city.
Rastogi was reportedly found unconscious in the bathroom of his hostel room on Monday morning, following which he was rushed to the hospital. The doctors administered him CPR, circle inspector at Jawahar Nagar police station, Harinarayan Sharma said on Tuesday. Noticing no revival of life, doctors declared him dead, he added.
According to Rastogi’s mother, who was present with him in the hostel room, her son went to the bathroom to refresh himself after getting up from bed as usual on Monday morning, DSP of the area, Rajesh Taylor, said. When the boy did not return from the bathroom even after 15-20 minutes, she knocked on the bathroom door and found it unbolted with the boy lying unconscious on the floor inside, he further said.
The deceased boy’s parents refused a post-mortem, and the body was handed over to them without lodging any case in the matter, circle inspector Harinarayan Sharma said.
