NEW DELHI: The Bombay high court on Wednesday took suo motu cognizance of of the violent protests in Badlapur after the sexual assault of two kindergarten students in Thane district, Live Law reported.
The matter is scheduled to be heard on August 22.
The National Human Rights Commission On Tuesday took suo motu cognizance of the incident and requested a detailed report from Maharashtra authorities.
It issued notices to Maharashtra’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, requesting a detailed report on the incident within two weeks.
