This Dreamcast game may have been a favourite of US Vice President candidate Tim Walz – Times of India

Tim Walz, the US Vice President candidate, is said to be a former gamer and owned a Sega Dreamcast console. According to a recent report, his wife had to confiscate it due to his excessive playing. While it’s unclear which game he enjoyed the most, it is reported that Crazy Taxi was a favourite.
Citing Tom Johnson, a former campaign intern for Walz, IGN reported that the Governor of Minnesota one day wanted to donate a box of stuff which included a Dreamcast console. He said that there was a disc inside the Dreamcast.
“I wanna say there was Crazy Taxi,” Johnson was quoted as saying. While this doesn’t clarify or establish whether it was his favourite game, it may be safe to say Walz liked playing Crazy Taxi.

Walz was part of ‘Nerd Herd’

The report also notes that in high school, Walz was a part of a group of individuals known as the “Nerd Herd” that would have LAN parties and play World of Warcraft.
“I would say the Nerd Herd of Mankato contributed greatly to [Walz’s] election to Congress in 2006, which had the domino effect of him being nominated for vice president of the United States,” Johnson pointed out.
If he and US Presidential candidate Kamala Harris are elected, Walz will be the first known gamer Vice President.

Former US President Obama is a gamer too

Former US President Barack Obama is reportedly the first and the last gamer to have been in The White House. Obama is said to have brought a Nintendo Wii with him when he took office and, according to someone who played against him, he was a Captain Falcon in Super Smash 64.

Captain Falcon is a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series, is from the F-Zero racing series and is one of the “Original 12”.
