Airtel launched Wynk Music in 2014. Airtel has also said that all Wynk Music employees will be absorbed within the parent company.Wynk Music has about 50 employees, according to the company’s LinkedIn page.
Airtel announces partnership with Apple
As for Wynk users, Airtel has partnered with Apple and will be offering them access to Apple Music.
“In a significant move, Airtel has entered into a partnership with Apple to offer its users access to Apple Music. As part of this collaboration, Wynk Premium subscribers will receive exclusive offers for Apple Music,” the company further added.
Apple Music will be available to Airtel users and Wynk Premium subscribers starting later this year. So, we can expect Wynk Music to be discontinued in the coming months, as well.
What Apple Music partnership means for Airtel subscribers
Currently, Airtel has not confirmed how much Wynk Premium subscribers would have to pay for Apple Music. In India, an Apple Music Individual plan costs Rs 99 per month.
The company has also not revealed what additional benefits Airtel users will get on Apple Music vs subscribers of Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea.
