KOZHIKODE: The special investigation team (SIT) probing the sexual abuse allegations in Malayalam film industry has recorded the statement of a Kozhikode native who had filed a sexual abuse complaint against director Ranjith.
The youth had alleged that Ranjith sexually abused him at a five-star hotel in Bengaluru in 2012 and he had filed a complaint on Wednesday.
The youth alleged that he met Ranjith at the location of ‘Bavuttiyide Namathil’ in 2012 and the director gave his phone number and later asked him to reach Bengaluru. SIT team member Kerala Police Academy assistant director Aishwarya Dongre recorded the statement at the Maloorkunnu AR camp.
The youth alleged that he was invited by the director to his hotel room in Bengaluru. On reaching there, he was offered a drink, coerced into undressing and sexually abused.
He also alleged that Ranjith took his nude photographs and later said he sent them to a female friend, who was an actor in the Malayalam cinema. The youth said on Friday that he has handed over evidence to substantiate his allegation.
