Meet the two ‘highest-paid’ Indian-origin tech CEOs in the US: They are not Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella – Times of India



Nikesha Aroa and Yamini Ranagan are the two ‘highest earning’ Indian-origin tech CEOs in their respective categories. Recent reports highlighted the top CEOs based on Compensation Actually Paid (CAP) with two Indian-origin CEOs, Nikesh Arora of Palo Alto Networks and Yamini Rangan, the CEO of HubSpot, included in the list of top-paid Indian-origin CEOs.
While Arora is 10th in the list of top 10 CEOs based on their Compensation Actually Paid (CAP), Rangan secured the eighth spot on the list of the Top 10 highest-paid female CEOs in the US. Her total pay more than doubled in 2023.
Rangan’s pay doubled in 2023
The 47-year-old Rangan earned a disclosed compensation of $25.88 million in the fiscal year 2023, as per the Business Journal’s list. She has a career spanning over 24 years in the technology industry. She studied at Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, and did a Master’s in Computer Engineering and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Nikesh Arora 10th highest-paid CEO in the US
Arora’s disclosed total compensation was over $151.4 million in 2023, and his compensation actually paid amounts to over $266.4 million.
Arora studied at Delhi’s Air Force Public School and was Google’s chief business officer. He left the Search giant in 2014, to lead SoftBank in Japan and since 2018, he’s been at the helm of Palo Alto Networks, a cybersecurity firm.
Arora also secured the number two spot on The Wall Street Journal’s 2023 list of highest-paid CEOs in the US with total compensation reaching $151.43 million.
Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen took the number 11 spot with $44.93 million and Google CEO Sundar Pichai earning $8.80 million in 2023.
