NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old woman sustained injuries in a drone-based bomb attack carried out by suspected militants in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Monday, according to police reports. This marks the second drone attack in the region within two days.
The incident occurred at Senjam Chirang, approximately 3 km from Koutruk, where two people were killed and nine others injured in bomb and gun attacks on Sunday.
Authorities reported that at least two explosives were dropped from a drone on Monday evening, resulting in the woman suffering abdominal injuries. She has been admitted to a hospital, where her condition is reported to be stable.
In addition to the drone attack, militants fired indiscriminately on the village from a nearby hilltop, prompting a swift response from security forces.
