A day after the official announcement of Rahul Dravid as the Rajasthan Royals’ head coach, the 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL) champions shared a video of the former India coach and captain arriving for a meeting to get down to work right away.
Wearing a pink T-shirt, which is also the colour of the Rajasthan team, Dravid is seen entering a room for a meeting with the franchise’s officials.

“Hello! So this is where the IPL is won,” he could be heard saying as he greeted everyone in the room with his opening words.

Dravid, who concluded his stint as India’s head coach with the T20 World Cup triumph in June this year, has been with the RR in the capacity of a player and coach previously from 2011 to 2015. He became the team’s coach in 2014 after concluding his career as a player in 2013.
“I am pleased to be returning to the franchise I have called ‘home’ for a number of years in the past. After the (T20) World Cup, I feel it’s the ideal time for me to take on another challenge, and the Royals is the perfect place to do that,” Dravid said in the team’s media release to announce his appointment.
As India coach, Rahul led the national team to the finals of all three major ICC tournaments – the World Test Championship (WTC), ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup.
While the team suffered heartbreaking defeats at the hands of Australia in the WTC and ODI World Cup finals, India managed to win the T20 World Cup by beating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final in Bridgetown, Barbados.
