What can Camera Control button do
The new Camera Control button is meant to open the camera and control it, as the name suggest. It has the following features:
- Press it once to open the camera app
- Press again to snap a picture
- Hold it down to start recording video
- Lightly press to see options like zoom
- Double tap lightly for even more choices
- Slide your finger on it to change settings
Works with third-party apps too
Apple isn’t keeping this button all to itself. Other apps, like Snapchat, will be able to use it too.

Later this year, the button will get even smarter. You’ll be able to use Visual intelligence through the camera control button turns the iPhone 16’s camera into a smart visual interface.
