Here are five WWE superstars who can make John Cena tap out

1) Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle is an Olympic Gold Medalist, and he won said medal while wrestling with a broken neck. Upon his transition to the WWE, Angle instantly became a star and developed a unique fighting style that was as deadly as it was unpredictable. Angle’s proficiency as a wrestler allowed him to grab his opponent from anywhere at any time.
Thanks to his background, Kurt also had a ton of submission holds in his arsenal, and his excellent skills allowed him to execute these submissions to perfection. Angle’s world-famous Ankle Lock put fear in the heart of most wrestlers, and fans actually believed that Kurt could snap someone’s feet through that hold. He has in fact made John Cena tap out during No Way Out back in 2004 and No Mercy in 2003, and he’s definitely capable of doing it again.

2) Bret Hart

The Hart family was trained in the art of wrestling from a young age thanks to the man that started it all, Stu Hart. However, not all of Stu’s students were equal, and his son Bret Hart was clearly a cut above the rest. Kurt excelled at being a technical wrestler and is arguably the greatest technical wrestler of all time.
Bret absorbed everything his father had to teach him about submissions, which made him deadly once he had a hold on his opponent. The Hitman developed the submission finisher, the Sharpshooter, which was capable of making grown men scream in pain. Unfortunately, we never got to see it, but Bret Hart’s excellence could’ve helped him overcome John Cena through submission.

3) Bryan Danielson

When you first look at Bryan Danielson, you might have trouble believing that he is one of the best wrestlers we’ve ever seen. This is because Bryan is a small man when compared to the size of other wrestling superstars. However, the only reason Bryan has excelled despite his small frame is because he is a master at submission holds.
Danileson took inspiration from submission experts like Dean Malenkoi and Mitsuharu Misawa and developed his game to be technically proficient. Today, Danielson is known throughout the world, and so is his ability to pull off a ton of different submission holds. There aren’t a lot of active wrestlers who have the ability to submit John Cena, but Daniel Bryan surely tops that small list.

4) Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has always been a figure of destruction and damage during his time in WWE. People see him walk down the ramp and just know something bad is about to happen. This is because of his freakish build and insane strength, Moreover, Lesnar was once a UFC champion so he has the skills to hang with the best in the world.
Thanks to his stint in UFC, Lesnar’s signature submission hold, the Kimura became stronger than ever. Now John Cena and Lesnar have faced each other many times but it has never ended with a submission. With all the extra work that Brock is put in over the years it is safe to say that if they were to face each other again, Brock making Cena tap out is a very real possibility.

5) Ken Shamrock

Ken Shamrock was the first WWE wrestler to successfully transition to the sport from a UFC background. His education in the art of MMA helped Ken become a master technician. After starting his career as a mid-carder, Shamrock was able to pave his way to the top of the promotion thanks to his signature Ankle Lock that he has used on some real WWE legends.
John Cena’s determination can only be countered by a proper technician and when it comes to wrestlers that can make Cena tap out, Ken Shamrock easily ticks all the boxes. It’s a shame that we never got to see the two cross paths in the ring.
