NEW DELHI: Police have arrested six individuals for allegedly stripping a 12-year-old Dalit boy naked, forcing him to dance and recording the incident in Kota.
The boy was accused of stealing wire from an event.
The video showed the boy dancing while four to five men sat around him, forcing him to dance with a smile. The police discovered the video, located the victim, and encouraged his family to file a complaint.
The victim’s father reported that his son attended a comedy event on Friday night at a fair in GAD Circle.Between 1 am and 4 am, the boy was accused of wire theft, assaulted, and forced to dance, according to the complaint.
An FIR has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
The arrested individuals are Kshitij Gurjar (24), Ashish Upadhyay (52), Yayati Upadhyay (24), Gourav Soni (21), Sandeep Singh (30), and Sumit Kumar Sain (25). The police found that the accused suspected the boy of stealing wire from their music system. DSP Manish Sharma stated that the accused were produced in court.
