IndiGo BLR-bound flight suffers tailstrike during take off in Delhi; DGCA grounds crew | India News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: An IndiGo Delhi-Bengaluru flight had a tail strike during take off from IGI Airport on Sept 9. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded the crew operating flight 6E-6054 on Airbus A321neo (VT-IBI).
The aircraft is learned to have suffered a tail strike during take-off, which left significant signs of damage. The same was discovered in Bengaluru when an engineer of the airline was inspecting the aircraft for its next flight.According to sources, data on this flight has been sent to Airbus for assessment. The DGCA is probing this incident.
In a statement about this incident, IndiGo said: “On Sept 9, 2024, an IndiGo A321 was grounded in Bangalore due to a tail strike. The aircraft is currently under maintenance and will be back in operation post necessary repairs. The incident is under investigation.”
