‘3 families armed J&K youths’: Amit Shah slams Congress-NC-PDP in Mendhar | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a blistering attack at Mehooba Mufti’s PDP, Farooq Abdullah’s NC and the Congress party, saying the “three families” armed the youth of Jammu and Kashmir while BJP handed them laptops.
During a rally at Mendhar in poll-bound J&K, Amit Shah said the Valley witnessed unprecedented transformation under PM Modi’s leadership — moving from terrorism to peace.
“Jammu and Kashmir’s democracy was held hostage by three influential families – Abdullah, Mufti, and Nehru-Gandhi. However, the 2014 Modi government has paved the way for grassroots democracy, ensuring elections at panchayat, block, and district levels,” the Union home minister claimed.
Shah said that gone are the days of frequent gunfire incidents when regional leaders feared Pakistan as now Islamabad fears PM Modi.
“Due to Modi Ji’s tireless efforts, today, around 30,000 Kashmiri youths are contesting elections at various levels, exercising their democratic rights,” Shah added.
Reaffirming BJP’s commitment to reservation for Pahadi, Gurjar and Bakarwal communities in J&K, Shah said: “Since 1947, in every war fought against Pakistan, the soldiers from this land, Jammu and Kashmir, have defended India. When terrorism entered in the 1990s, courtesy Farooq Abdullah, it was my Pahadi, Gurjar, and Bakarwal brothers who bravely faced bullets on the borders.”
The home minister also said the PM Modi-led central government will let “terrorism enter the beautiful valleys”.
“Omar Abdullah tries to instill fear that terrorism will return to Jammu. Abdullah sahab, no matter what happens, I am declaring from the Valley today that our government is at the Centre, I am the Home Minister, Narendra Modi is the PM, and we will not allow terrorism to enter these beautiful valleys,” Shah claimed.
