WWE SmackDown 9/27 Results: Controversial ending in the Bloodline vs. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens match and more – Times of India


The September 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown has a lot of action stored in it with an interesting segment of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and The Bloodline, and the verbal wrangle has extended the hype of their long-withstanding fight. But beyond that, several high-octane matches have made the blue brand energetic which includes the number 1 contender for the Women’s Championship match and of course, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs.The Bloodline.

WWE SmackDown 9/27/2024 Results

In the interesting segment of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and The Bloodline, Rhodes addresses the reason behind teaming up with Roman Reigns saying that it was necessary for him to take down The Bloodline. He further clears the air between him and Orton and the Viper reveals that he will not have any problem with that if Rhodes does not create a problem along the way. Following the segment, the matches scheduled for the night started.
Bayley vs. Naomi for number one contender’s match for the Women’s Championship
The match kicks off with Naomi attempting an early splash, but Bayley dodges. Bayley teases a punch, then both exchange shoves before Bayley takes control with a shoulder tackle and a clothesline. She goes for a quick pin, but Naomi kicks out. Bayley follows up with an arm drag, but Naomi counters, delivering a bulldog and a kick to Bayley’s face, sending her outside. Naomi dives onto her with a corkscrew splash.

Back in the ring, Naomi hits the Rearview, but Bayley kicks out. After some back-and-forth, Bayley reverses a suplex and lands a sunset flip. Naomi tries to rally, but Bayley hits her signature Bayley-to-Belly followed by a top rope elbow drop for the win.
Result: Bayley defeats Naomi to be the number one contender for the Women’s Championship against Nia Jax.
Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes
The match starts with a quick dropkick from Andrade, followed by an attempted double knees on Hayes, but Hayes evades it. Hayes fights back with a series of strikes, but Andrade counters with a powerslam on the ring apron. Both men exchange powerful moves, with Hayes attempting a springboard clothesline and Andrade narrowly avoiding it. After a double clothesline leaves both men down, Hayes hits Andrade with double knees, but Andrade moves just in time to avoid a corner attack.

The momentum shifts as Andrade connects with a flying clothesline and his signature double knees, but Hayes kicks out. Hayes responds with a springboard DDT, only for Andrade to survive the pin attempt. As the action escalates, Andrade tries a moonsault, but Hayes counters with a cutter. Both competitors trade near falls, but as Hayes goes for a top rope move, LA Knight’s music hits, distracting Andrade. This allows Hayes to roll him up for the pin and the victory.
Result: Carmelo Hayes with the win.
Michin vs. Piper Niven (with Chelsea Green)
The match kicks off with Michin landing an early dropkick, but Niven quickly takes control with a shoulder tackle. Michin dodges a senton and heads outside, where Chelsea Green distracts her. Niven takes advantage, hitting a cannonball off the apron. Michin rallies with chops and kicks but struggles against Niven’s power.

As the match heats up, Niven goes for a cannonball, but Michin dodges, sending Niven crashing into a garbage can. Michin lands a Meet the Feet on Niven for the victory after dealing with Chelsea.
Result: Michin defeats Piper Niven.
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu
The match begins with Owens trading blows with Jacob before Solo is tagged in. Owens and Orton manage to land strong moves, but Jacob and Solo take control with powerful double teams. Owens fights back, tagging in Orton, who clears the ring with clotheslines and powerslams.

Chaos erupts when Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa interfere, but Cody rushes in to even the numbers game The Bloodline usually plays. Despite Cody’s help, however, a superkick from Jacob and Solo’s Spinning Solo on Owens seal the victory.
Result: The Bloodline with the win.
Following their defeat, Rhodes and Kevin Owens argue in the ring while Orton tries to break it up. Finally, both men hug as they overcome the odds. The ending of the latest episode of SmackDown almost started with the potential end of the friendship between Owens and Rhodes.
