NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party announced on Wednesday that a house has been finalised in the New Delhi area for former Delhi chief minister and party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, where he and his family will move in the next few days.
While the party did not reveal the exact address, it mentioned that the new residence is near the AAP headquarters on Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane. Sources indicated that Kejriwal is likely to move to a bungalow on Feroz Shah Road.
After resigning as CM last month, Kejriwal stated that he would vacate the official Flagstaff Road residence during the Navratri period. He had also expressed a preference to live in his own assembly constituency, New Delhi. The auspicious Hindu festival begins on Thursday.
Last month, AAP urged the central government to provide Kejriwal with an official residence, citing his position as the head of a national party.
