NEW DELHI: Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at the BJP on Sunday during the ‘Janta Ki Adalat’ held at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi.
He challenged Prime Minister Modi to “give free electricity in 22 NDA-ruled states before the Delhi polls,” adding, “I will campaign for BJP if he does that.”
He emphasized the consequences of BJP’s governance, declaring, “Double engine governments mean inflation, corruption, and unemployment.”
Continuing his criticism, Kejriwal claimed that the BJP is “anti-poor,” noting, “They removed bus marshals, data entry operators, and stopped salaries of home guards in Delhi.”
Kejriwal also highlighted the achievements of his administration, stating, “We gave 6 rewaris to Delhi: power, water, bus ride for women, elderly pilgrimage, health, education; BJP will take them away.”
‘Exit polls’
Kejriwal criticized the BJP’s governance, stating that the party’s double-engine ‘governments’ are ending in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir.
“I was watching TV yesterday evening; exit polls were coming. BJP’s double-engine governments are going from Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. The double engine has failed in the country,” he said.
“The first engine failed in June when they got 240 seats. The second engine will also fail from Jharkhand and Maharashtra slowly. People have understood that double-engine government means inflation, unemployment, and corruption,” Kejriwal added further.
‘My insulin supply was stopped’
Kejriwal further recounted a personal ordeal, saying, “My insulin supply was stopped in jail; my kidney could have failed, and I could have died.”
‘No democracy in Delhi’
He further criticised Delhi LG VK Saxena saying, “There is no democracy in Delhi; there is LG Raaj in Delhi.”
Kejriwal vowed to change the situation, asserting, “We will free Delhi from LG Raaj and get full statehood for it.”
