‘We just walked the talk’: Suryakumar Yadav elated after team executes plans to perfection | – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India captain Suryakumar Yadav voiced his satisfaction with the team’s performance after they flawlessly executed their plans in a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first T20I in Gwalior on Sunday.
With this victory, India went 1-0 up in the three-match series with second and third matches being played on October 9 in Delhi and October 12 in Hyderabad.
“We just tried to back our skills and what we decided in the team meeting, we just walked the talk. The way the guys showed their character on the field, first time playing on a new ground, and the way we batted, showed our character,” Surya said during the post match presentation.

Batter Nitish Kumar Reddy and fast bowler Mayank Yadav delivered decent performances on their debut, and skipper Suryakumar expressed his eagerness to see them in action in the upcoming matches.
He also highlighted areas where the team would focus on making improvements before the next game.
“Very excited and looking forward to seeing them in the next games. It’s a good headache to have when you are on the field when you have extra bowling options. You always learn something new playing every game. There will be a few areas to improve, we’ll sit down and talk about it before the next game,” he added.

India’s Arshdeep Singh and the returning Varun Chakravarthy dismantled Bangladesh’s batting lineup, paving the way for a commanding victory for the hosts.
The left-arm pacer Arshdeep and spinner Chakravarthy each claimed three wickets, restricting Bangladesh to a modest 127. India chased down the target comfortably with 49 balls to spare in Gwalior, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
This win marked India’s first T20 triumph on home soil since their T20 World Cup title victory in Barbados last June.
