NEW DELHI: In the Faridabad Assembly constituency, Vipul Goel of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading with 19,828 votes, holding a significant margin of 8,126 votes over his closest rival, Lakhan Kumar Singla of the Indian National Congress (INC), who has garnered 11,702 votes. Narender Pal Singh Baghel of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) trails further behind with just 462 votes, a deficit of 19,366 votes compared to the leading candidate.
Faridabad is one of the key constituencies in the Haryana Assembly, falling under the Faridabad district.In the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, the voter turnout in this constituency was recorded at 53 percent. Vipul Goel (BJP) and Lakhan Kumar Singla (INC) are the prominent contenders, with several independent candidates also participating in the race.
In the previous 2019 elections, Narender Gupta of the BJP won the Faridabad seat, defeating Lakhan Kumar Singla of the INC by a margin of 21,713 votes. Faridabad also forms part of the Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency, which saw BJP candidate Krishan Pal Gurjar win the 2024 parliamentary elections with a margin of 172,914 votes against Mahendra Pratap of the INC.
