Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2024 E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India, starting at Rs 78.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated luxury sedan brings a host of design tweaks and tech enhancements. It will be produced locally at the company’s Pune manufacturing facility. It’s also worth noting that India remains the sole market globally where the RHD version of the LWB E-Class is built.It will be available in three variants: E 200 at Rs 78.5 lakh, E220d at Rs 81.5 lakh, and E 450 4Matic at Rs 92.5 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Design and dimensions
The 2024 E-Class sees modest but impactful changes in its exterior dimensions and styling. The sedan is now slightly longer at 5,092mm, with a 15mm increase in wheelbase, offering more cabin space. The height has been reduced by 2mm, giving it a sleeker stance. The front grille has been revamped. It now features a star-pattern design while the front fascia looks quite different with new, slimmer LED headlights.
On the sides, Mercedes has also introduced flush-fitting door handles that pop out when required. Another standout feature is the Maybach-inspired rear quarter glass. It also gets redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels. The model is now available in a new Nautic Blue colour, alongside four other choices: Obsidian Black, High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey, and Polar White.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Interior
Stepping inside, the most notable change is the introduction of the brand-new MBUX Superscreen. This wide-screen infotainment system spans the dashboard, with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 14.4-inch central infotainment screen, and an additional 12.3-inch screen dedicated to the front passenger.
Rear-seat comfort has been a focal point of the new E-Class. The back passengers now enjoy powered outer seats, headrest cushions, and upgraded conveniences like powered sunblinds and four-zone climate control. Mercedes-Benz has also introduced features such as dual wireless charging pads—one at the front and one at the rear.
Beyond comfort, the 2024 E-Class is packed with a host of features such as a 64-colour ambient lighting system, and a 730W 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system. The sedan also boasts a powered tailgate and memory functions for the front seats. On the safety front, the German carmaker has equipped the new E-Class with multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree camera. It also gets ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking among others.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Engine options
Under the hood, the new E-Class will be available with three engine options: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 204 hp , and a 2.0-litre diesel engine with 197 hp. Both engines come paired with an automatic gearbox as standard. The third one will be a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that makes 380 hp and 550 Nm. Additionally, there’s also a mild hybrid system that boosts the performance by 23 hp and 205 Nm for all three engine options.
