Indian Test cricket captain Rohit Sharma has provided an update on the condition of fast bowler Mohammed Shami. Shami has been out of the international squad since suffering a knee injury during the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Sharma mentioned that it is uncertain whether Shami will be able to play in the upcoming series against Australia. He said, “To be honest, it is difficult to make a call on him for Australia series.He had a setback and had swelling in his knees. That put him back a little bit and had to start again. He’s at the NCA with doctors and physios. We don’t want to bring undercooked Shami to Australia. We are keeping our fingers crossed.”
Shami is currently undergoing treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) with the medical team.
