Anu Sharma, a software engineer at Google has shared a post claiming she got rejected from a job role for being ‘too good’. Sharing a post on microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter), Sharma wrote “Didn’t know you could be rejected for being too good”. In the post, she also shared a screenshot of the rejection letter depicting why she was disqualified.
What the rejection letter said
As per the screenshot shared by Sharma, the letter says “The position you have applied for requires someone with the specific qualifications mentioned in the job description.”
“After going through your resume, we realised that your qualifications significantly surpass the role requirements.Our experience indicates that candidates with higher qualifications often find the work unfulfilling and tend to leave shortly after joining.”
Sharma shared the post on October 17 and has garnered over 98K views so far.
