‘If baby can survive outside womb then …’: Elon Musk shares his stance on abortion ban – Times of India

Tesla CEO Elon Musk at a rally

Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday said that if a baby can survive outside the womb it cannot be aborted and at that point it is murder.
Musk, who is supporting former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump, held a rally in Pennsylvania where he was asked about his position on abortion.
While giving his stance on abortion, Musk fell short of calling for a national ban, saying the issue was both nuanced and difficult.”In my opinion, which is bound to offend some, If a baby can survive outside the womb, it cannot be aborted. If a baby can survive outside the world, if it is far enough in gestation to survive outside of that room at this point it’s not abortion, it’s a murder,” he said.

In the rally, he blamed the education for terrifying girls and women to think that having a child means ending their career and life.
“When you instill terror in young girls that getting pregnant is the worst thing that can happen, they’ll believe that if they’re just kids. So when that is a deep seated belief that they’ve been hit with, the idea that they wont be able to get an abortion even in extreme circumstances is terrifying, and they will not vote for any candidate who might essentially stop them from getting it — even in those extreme circumstances. This is the issue that we face. The relentless push in education to terrify girls and women that if they get pregnant their life is over,” he said.
The reality is that there’s nothing greater than having kids. I get more joy in my life from my kids than anything else. It is very natural to love your children. So having a child will make you happier than anything else in your life ever could.
Donald Trump on October 1for the first time to veto a federal abortion ban, if re-elected in November’s presidential race. Musk also said in the same rally, “President Trump has been very clear that he will veto a national abortion ban.”
The Republican nominee has repeatedly taken credit for the Supreme Court‘s reversal of Roe v. Wade in June 2022 and touted that three of the justices he appointed to the high court voted to unwind the constitutional right to abortion.
