An autorickshaw driver in Bengaluru is helping non-Kannada-speaking passengers learn the local language with a simple yet creative initiative. Ajmal Sultan, known online as “Auto Kannadiga,” has placed a poster inside his vehicle offering basic Kannada lessons. The poster, titled “Learn Kannada With Auto Kannadiga,” provides translations of common phrases from Kannada to English, which can help passengers learn basic communication in the language.This initiative aims to bridge the language barrier often experienced in the city.
Ajmal’s efforts have gained attention on social media, with an Instagram post showcasing his poster and highlighting his mission to “fix the language problem in Bengaluru.” The influencer autorickshaw driver has more than 1.3 lakh followers on Instagram.

The post has gone viral with over 19,000 likes and has already received nearly 500 comments.
The video shows the auto driver talking about the leaflet which translates simple phrases from Kannada to English, like “Namasakara sir” (Hello, sir) and “UPI idya athva cash aa?” (Do you accept UPI or cash?) and placing the leaflet inside his auto. The leaflet has a QR code which when scanned will show a demo video of the same and also differentiates what to say inside and outside the auto.
A passenger also shared the leaflet on the social media platform X and called it “very handy.” The X post has also received more than 33,000 likes.
