Hospitality startup Oyo’s former group chief financial officer, Abhishek Gupta, has joined omnichannel eyewear retailer Lenskart as its CFO.
“After 9 amazing years at Oyo, I have recently joined Lenskart as the CFO. Thank you Ritesh (Agarwal) and the entire team of Oyo for the trust and friendship,” Gupta said in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.
Gupta left Oyo in March this year and joined Lenskart in August, as per his LinkedIn profile. In December, Oyo said Gupta would be stepping down, with former deputy CFO Rakesh Kumar being elevated to CFO, effective January 1.

On October 3, ET reported that Lenskart plans to invest $200 million in its new manufacturing plant in southern India, which will be ‘10x the size’ of its Rajasthan plant, as the company achieves a revenue run rate of $1 billion for the current fiscal year.
Lenskart, which was adjudged ET Startup of the Year for 2024, makes 25 million spectacle frames and 30-40 million lenses annually. The Gurugram-based company is backed by the likes of SoftBank, Temasek and KKR.
In FY23, its revenue more than doubled to Rs 3,788 crore.
Going forward, Lenskart is also targeting new consumer segments. The company recently launched Cooper, a kids’ eyewear brand, and has introduced a product named Creator, specifically designed for children with myopia.
