NEW DELHI: Over 25 aircrafts of different airlines received bomb threats on Friday afternoon, PTI reported quoting sources. This included over seven flights each from IndiGo, Vistara, and SpiceJet which had received threats, while six flights from Air India were targeted.
The IndiGo flights that received bomb threats include: 6E 11 (Delhi – Istanbul), 6E58 – (Jeddah-Mumbai), 6E17 – (Mumbai- Istanbul), 6E108 – (Hyderabad- Chandigarh), 6E133 – (Pune- Jodhpur), Flight 6E 87 (Kozhikode to Dammam) and Flight 6E 2099 (Udaipur to Delhi).
“In line with our strict safety protocols, all necessary precautions are being taken, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities. The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers and appreciate their understanding during this time,” the airlines said in a press statement.
The past two weeks has seen bomb threats to over 275 flights operated by Indian airlines, predominantly communicated via social media. In response, the government has requested that Meta and X provide data on these hoax threats and is actively working to identify the individuals responsible for these activities.
