Rahul Gandhi Questions Centre on Security Lapses After J&K Terror Attack | India News – Times of India

Rahul Gandhi criticized the NDA government for its failure to ensure security in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the rising terrorist activities and targeted killings. Following a recent attack that resulted in the deaths of soldiers and porters, he demanded immediate accountability and actions to restore peace and safety in the region.

NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi on Friday questioned the central government over repeated security lapses in Jammu and Kashmir, a day after an army vehicle was attacked by the terrorists causing the death of two soldiers and two army porters in Gulmarg.
“The policies of the NDA government at the Centre have completely failed to establish security and peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Contrary to their claims, the reality is that the state is living under the shadow of danger due to continuous terrorist activities, attacks on our soldiers and targeted killings of civilians,” the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha said in a post on X.
He further called upon the BJP-led central government to take accountability of the attack noting the recent surge in violence in the valley.
“The government should immediately take accountability and restore peace in the valley at the earliest and ensure the safety of the army and civilians,” Gandhi said.

Expressing condolences towards the families of the dead, Gandhi said, “The news of the martyrdom of our brave soldiers in the cowardly attack on an army vehicle in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad. Two porters also lost their lives in the attack. I pay my tribute to the martyrs and express my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families.”
This comes after an attack on Sunday killed six non-local laborers and a local doctor as terrorists opened fire at the Z-Morh tunnel construction site in Gagangir, Ganderbal district.
This incident followed the killing of a Bihar laborer in Shopian on October 18, and an earlier shooting where a laborer from Uttar Pradesh, Shubam Kumar, was injured in Tral, Pulwama district.
