In recent times, Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan has faced unprecedented challenges. On the one hand, he lost his dear friend and politician Baba Siddiqui in a merciless assassination, and soon after the same, the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang gave Khan death threats, which further added another layer of tension. Amid all this, it was reported that Salman Khan might cancel all his shoots, but being a true professional, nothing stopped Khan from fulfilling his work commitments. Despite the threats and personal tragedy, he continued not just one shoot but managed to juggle various projects. Here’s a brief on the same:
‘Bigg Boss 18’
‘Bigg Boss 18’ is Salman Khan’s one of the longest-running commitments. Though initially, several hosts came to be the face of the show, the impact Salman Khan created and the fandom he brought with him can’t be challenged. Thus, despite what goes on in his personal life, the actor never fails to fulfill his professional commitments to the show. Despite the demise of his close friend and politician Baba Siddique and the threats given by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the actor resumed the shoot of ‘Bigg Boss 18’.
He worked with heightened security following death threats linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Sources revealed Khan stayed in a secured chalet within the production compound and strict protocols were implemented, which included:
- The entire crew stayed on-site until filming wrapped up
- Over 60 guards are stationed to monitor the area
- Everyone entering the premises must undergo Aadhar card verification
This security was beefed up after the Mumbai Traffic Police received a message allegedly sent by a Lawrence Bishnoi gang demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore from Salman Khan. Later, the sender apologized to the authorities saying it was a mistake.
Though Salman Khan continued shooting the famous reality show, he made clear he was upset with the ongoing events. Hinting at the pressure he was going through he said, “Yaar, kasam khuda ki (I swear) what all I am going through in my life, and I have to come and handle this”
He continued, “Aaj ki meri yeh feeling hai ki mujhe yahan aana hi nahi chahiye tha. But yeh ek commitment hai, isliye main yahan pe aaya hoon” (Today, I feel like I shouldn’t have come here, but it’s a commitment, so I came).”
‘Sikander’
It wasn’t just this popular reality show whose shoot was resumed, Salman Khan continued the filming of his highly anticipated movie ‘Sikander’ amid the threats.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the movie has been creating a buzz right from the start. Reports were doing the rounds that in the wake of Baba Siddique’s demise and the serious threats posed to him and his family, Salman Khan has postponed the shoot of Sikander, but those were just romours. “As per the planned schedule, Salman Khan is shooting for Sikander,” confirmed a source close to the production house, according to a Hindustan Times report.
Further, Salman is expected to give a full dose of action with this movie. For the high-octane action sequences, reportedly Salman will be collaborating with ‘Mission Impossible’ stunt directors. His fight choreography will reportedly present a blend of aerial acrobatics with close-quarters combat.
Releasing on Eid 2025, the movie also features Suniel Shetty and Prateik Babbar in lead roles.
‘Singham Again’
One of the best things about Salman Khan that helps him garner love from every corner is that he juggles different projects and fulfills every commitment even amid death threats. Though he had a tight schedule with ‘Bigg Boss 18‘ and ‘Sikandar,; the ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ fame star made time for a cameo in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again.’ He will be seen reprising his Chulbul Pandey role (from ‘Dabangg’) in Shetty’s cop universe.
Utmost security precautions were taken during the shoot. The Mid-Day reported that in addition to the Y+ security, there were 50 more guards during the shoot. The set’s overall security was also beefed up during Salman’s cameo.
“The Singham Again set was highly secured, with almost 70 guards monitoring every movement on the floor. There were checks at every entry and exit point. Salman had a solo shoot, for which he reported at 10 pm and work went on till late at night. In fact, he was shooting for a Bigg Boss episode before reporting to Rohit’s set,” a source told Mid-day.
‘Singham Again’ will feature Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shweta Tiwari and more stars. It will be hitting the big screens on Diwali this year.
Dabangg Reloaded tour in Dubai
In addition to his movies and shows, Salman Khan is also expected to fly to Dubai for his Dabangg Reloaded tour. Alongside him, stars like Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul, and Aastha Gill will be a part of the tour, which will be coordinated and executed by Jordy Patel.
Slated to commence on December 7, 2024, the tour will be happening while ensuring the safety of Khan and his team. An insider told India Today “His entire team is being careful about the security arrangements, and Salman himself has been making sure that no one suffers a delay because of him.”
