NEW DELHI: During his recent appearance on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Indian pacer Mohsin Khan heaped praise on Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, revealing what makes the opener stand out among batters.
During the conversation, Mohsin, who had a commendable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign with 10 wickets from nine matches to his name for Lucknow Super Giants, opened up on Rohit’s extraordinary ability to play fast bowling with ease.
“Bhaiya k paas bohot time hai (he has a lot of time),” Mohsin said, describing how Rohit seems to have all the time in the world to respond to deliveries.
“Even a bowler delivering at 150 kmph feels like they’re bowling at 140. He just whips the ball effortlessly,” the pacer added, underlining Rohit’s unmatched composure at the crease.

Meanwhile, Australian batter Steve Smith recently named Rohit Sharma as the opener in his World Test XI.
Speaking to Fox Cricket, Smith lauded Rohit’s aggressive intent with the new ball, which forces bowlers to remain on the back foot.
“Rohit is a dangerous player. He takes on the bowlers but also knows when to defend. He puts enormous pressure on the opposition,” Smith remarked.
Smith’s endorsement comes just as Rohit faces challenges following India’s back-to-back losses to New Zealand, marking India’s first home Test series defeat in 12 years.
However, the Indian captain will get a chance to redeem himself as he prepares to lead the team in the highly anticipated five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia, starting November 22 in Perth.
With India’s dominance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at stake, Rohit’s batting and leadership will be tested like never before.
The upcoming series offers him the perfect opportunity to prove Mohsin and Smith’s confidence right and reaffirm his status as one of the most formidable openers in world cricket.
