Akaash Singh: Comedian who hosted Trump on Flagrant podcast rips into democrats | World News – Times of India

Trump on Flagrant podcast

Comedian Akaash Singh, co-host of the Flagrant podcast, in a fiery episode recorded just before the election, shared his views on the Democratic Party’s shortcomings, particularly its handling of President Joe Biden’s candidacy and the legacy of figures like Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“I think we’re giving Democrats way too much credit,” Singh said, expressing frustration over what he perceives as a failure to address key issues and pass the baton to younger leadership. He called Biden’s decision to run for re-election “selfish,” arguing that his age and declining health made him an unviable candidate. “He should have dropped out,” he said, adding that the Democrats’ failure to step aside for fresh leadership was a major factor in their struggles.
Singh also took aim at the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a beloved figure for liberals. He criticised her decision to stay on the Supreme Court during Barack Obama’s presidency, despite her battle with cancer. “If she just decided, ‘I’m in my mid-70s with cancer, I should drop out while Obama’s in office,’ Roe v. Wade might not have been overturned,” Singh argued. He contended that Ginsburg, like other key figures, was motivated by personal ambition rather than the greater good, accusing political elites of selfishness at every turn.
Singh, who had earlier appeared alongside Trump on Flagrant in a highly publicised episode, also addressed the visual contrast between Trump and Biden, particularly as both candidates enter their late 70s. “Think about the visual of Trump getting shot and standing up, raising a fist in the air, versus Joe Biden walking up a flight of stairs.”
In the aftermath of the election, which saw Trump recapture the presidency in a stunning win despite multiple criminal charges and controversies, many commentators pointed to a failure of the Democratic establishment to present a clear, unified alternative.
What Trump on Flagrant podcast
In his Flagrant podcast appearance, Donald Trump also weighed in on the highly contentious issue of abortion, reiterating his stance on exceptions. “I do believe in exceptions,” Trump said, citing cases such as the life of the mother, rape, and incest. He also stated that he supported abortion in cases where the father of the child had committed heinous crimes, such as murder. “If your daughter’s impregnated by someone who’s from a prison and has killed people, absolutely, you have to be able to do that,” Trump argued, distancing himself from those who oppose abortion under any circumstance.
Trump’s comments on abortion come after his key role in reshaping the Supreme Court, leading to the controversial overturning of Roe v. Wade.
