BHOPAL: An assistant sub-inspector lost his arm, and a constable sustained injuries while attempting to retrieve the bodies of two passengers who fell from a moving train and died on the tracks in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh.
The incident occurred around 8pm on Sunday at the Bandakpur railway station when ASI Rajendra Mishra, along with a constable, responded to a report about the deceased passengers on the tracks.
While they were trying to lift the bodies, an oncoming train struck them, resulting in severe injuries. ASI Mishra’s arm was severed, and the constable was also injured and lost consciousness. Both were immediately taken to the hospital, and ASI Mishra was referred to Jabalpur for further treatment.
Damoh SP Shrut Kirti Somvanshi stated that Mishra might be airlifted to a larger hospital if needed. Investigations are underway.
