First visuals of India’s practice session in Perth – Watch | Cricket News – Times of India

India hit the nets at the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) stadium in Perth on Tuesday to begin preparations for the coming Border Gavaskar Trophy, which is set to commence on November 22.
The first Test will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
A Forbes cricket journalist shared a video clip on ‘X’, which shows Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal among the first set of Indian batters having a feel of the conditions.

The pitch for the opening contest is expected to offer pace and bounce, as is the nature of the wickets in Perth historically.
In another post by the journalist, a picture of the red cricket ball was shared, claiming that it landed on the adjacent road after Jaiswal hit a shot over the nets.

India’s training sessions are out of bounds for the general public, as a black sheet has been put up to cover the grill bordering the practice area at the WACA stadium.

India opted to cancel their scheduled practice match against India ‘A’, who are also on tour in Australia.
Coach Gautam Gambhir and his support staff determined that additional net practice sessions would be more advantageous than participating in a warm-up fixture.
Following a disappointing 0-3 defeat in the home Test series against New Zealand, India have dropped to the second position in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings.

To outrightly secure their third consecutive WTC final appearance, India must emerge victorious in at least four out of the five Tests in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
