NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday took potshots at Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren, holding him responsible for the declining tribal population in the state, by “allowing infiltrators to marry tribal women.”
Addressing a rally at Jharkhand’s Dumka, Shah said, “Hemant Soren is responsible for declining tribal population as he is allowing infiltrators to enter Jharkhand and marry tribal women. They are snatching tribal land here which will not be allowed.”
“Hemant Soren is trying to provide reservations to Muslims through backdoor with the support from Congress. I warn that BJP will not allow any such plans of Hemant Soren and Rahul Gandhi to succeed,” Shah added.
Shah assured that BJP after being elected will establish sufficient industries ensuring no youth would need to relocate elsewhere seeking employment.
He further continued that, Hemant Soren engaged in corruption and misappropriation of funds but will be farewelled on November 23. Desire for power compelled Hemant Soren to align with RJD-Congress which opposed creation of Jharkhand.
Speaking at another rally in Madhupur in Deoghar district, the Union home Minister said “Congress party and JMM wants to give reservation to Muslims. Jharkhand has reached its 50 per cent limit to give reservations. If Muslims were to be given reservations then it has to be cut down from the reservation quotas of SCs, STs, and OBCs. I assure you that till the time we have even one MP, we will not let Muslims have any reservation.”
“This election is not to elect an MLA or a party. It is not to bring BJP’s CM by removing Hemant Soren. This election is to form the future of Jharkhand’s women, youth and backwards castes,” Shah added.
Criticising the Congress, the union home minister said that the party’s leader Rahul Gandhi believes in travelling abroad after making promises, whilst only the BJP delivers its guarantees.
“Rahul baba makes promises one after another, but after making promises he flies abroad… But on the other hand, PM Modi’s promise is like one etched on stone (patthar ki lakeer). He fulfils what he promises. BJP fulfils its guarantees and only we can shape Jharkhand. The Congress, JMM and RJD can never work in the interest of the state,” he said.
“Infiltrators are posing a threat not only to the tribals but also to the state’s youth by snatching jobs and fuelling crime. The Jharkhand High Court had directed to identify and deport infiltrators. While the Centre agreed, the Hemant Soren government in the state didn’t,” he added.
Shah said that if the BJP secured victory in Jharkhand, they would transform it into the nation’s most affluent state within a five-year period.
India would ascend to become the world’s third-largest economy prior to December 2027, he added.
