A fire erupted in a food van near Vishwavidyalaya metro station in Delhi’s North Campus area on Sunday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, according to officials.
A video of the incident shared on social media platform X shows thick, black smoke rising into the sky as the bus fumes, while a crowd watches the horrifying scene unfold.
“We received a call at 10.55 am that a fire had broken out in a food van stationed outside the Vishwavidyalaya metro station,” a Delhi Fire Services (DFS) official said.
The blaze was put down by 12 noon, with the help of two fire engines, he informed.
Delhi Police stated that a PCR call about the fire near Vishwavidyalaya metro station was received at 11:02 am at Maurice Nagar police station.
The fire broke out in a food van outside the metro station’s gate no. 4. Police are speculating that fire started in electrical equipment used for cooking.
This food bus was a popular spot among college students, drawing regular crowds from nearby campuses.
