She was speaking at Directors Kut Production’s TV Actresses Round Table 2024, which was hosted on their YouTube channel.
Rupali Ganguly was spotted alongside Samridhii Shukla, Shivangi Joshi, Anita Raj, and Reem Shaikh. Ishika Shahi, Rajan Shahi’s daughter, was the host of the talk. Rupali remembered being the villain in Sanjivani. She said how many do not comprehend that an actor is only performing his or her job by portraying that role.
She played Simran in the show and was once seen heading to a market with costar Gurdeep Kohli, the show’s principal actor. She stated that a woman approached Gurdeep and asked her to stay away from Rupali. She further said that the woman thereafter addressed Rupali as ‘kamini‘. She said, “Gurdeep and I went to Lokhandwala to show and a lady came to us and took Gurdeep aside and told her ‘Juhi, use dur reh, woh acchi nahi hai.’ And then when she was passing by she called me ‘kamini’ and went.”
Rupali stated that she cried that day and felt quite awful about it. Rupali then revealed that her father, a filmmaker, was concerned about who would marry her because she was the villain on television. She then played Monisha in Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, and the perspective shifted.
