Here are top quotes from PM Modi’s victory speech

  • The sentiment of ‘Ek hain toh safe hain‘ has taught a lesson to those who make people fight in the name of caste, religion, language and region. It has punished them. Tribals, OBCs, Dalits, every section of the society voted for BJP-NDA. This is a strong blow to the thinking of the entire eco-system of Congress and INDI alliance, which was running an agenda to divide the society
  • Voters with those who put ‘nation first’, not with those putting ‘kursi first’; ‘INDI Alliance’ unable to understand country’s mood: PM Modi
  • Today negative politics has been defeated. Today ‘Parivarvad’ have been defeated. Today Maharashtra has I congratulate all the workers of BJP and NDA across the country
  • The entire world respects our culture today because we respect it now. And in the next five years, Maharashtra will move ahead with the mantra of ‘vikas bhi virasat bhi’. The INDI alliance, meanwhile, has failed to accept the reality. The country’s voters don’t want instability and are with those who support the mantra of ‘nation first
  • After Haryana, the biggest message of this election is unity. ‘Ek hain toh safe hain’ has become the ‘maha-mantra’ of the country
  • I also thank the people of Jharkhand. We will work harder for faster development of Jharkhand
  • The results for byelections in several states were also declared today. Besides, our tally in Lok Sabha has increased today as well. UP, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan have strongly supported BJP (in bypolls). People of Assam have also reposed their faith in BJP and we have also received people’s support in Madhya Pradesh
  • Development, good governance and social justice have won in Maharashtra. Lies and deceit have suffered a crushing defeat
  • This time Maharashtra has broken all records. This is the biggest victory for any party or pre-poll alliance in Maharashtra in the last 50 years. This is the third consecutive time that Maharashtra has blessed the alliance led by BJP. For the third time, BJP has emerged as the largest party in Maharashtra…BJP has got more seats than Congress and its allies. Maharashtra is the sixth state in the country which has given mandate to BJP three times in a row.
  • It is the victory of development, good governance and social justice in Maharashtra, and it is the defeat of negative politics and dynastic politics
  • Maharashtra has become sixth state in the country that has given mandate to BJP for third consecutive time. Before this, Haryana, Goa, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh had achieved such a feat. Similarly, NDA has received mandate for more than three consecutive time in Bihar. And after 60 years, I have been given a chance
  • We all know about Balsaheb Thackeray’s contribution to the society. Though Congress formed an alliance with a faction of his party for power, they never praised Balasaheb Thackeray’s policies. That’s why I challenged Congress’ alliance partners to make the grand old party praise Balasaheb Thackeray, but they have failed to do it. Besides, Congress has always insulted and abused Veer Savarkar as well
  • This Maharashtra election has exposed the double face of the INDI-Aghadi…The Congress leadership has constantly insulted Veer Savarkar across the country. They have even abused him. To get votes in Maharashtra, these people temporarily stopped abusing him. But not even once have they spoken the truth about Savarkar’s sacrifice and this shows their double face. Their only motive is to defame Veer Savarkar
  • Waqf Board an example of Congress’ appeasement politics, no place for Waqf law in Constitution
  • Urban naxalism of Congress has become a challenge for country, its remote control is outside country
  • Cong’s ‘shahi parivar’ spreading poison of casteism in its greed for power, party’s priority is only family not people of country
  • Congress made laws for appeasement. They did not even care about the Supreme Court’s order. An example of this is the Waqf Board. The people of Delhi will be surprised. The situation was that before leaving the government in 2014, these people had handed over many properties of Delhi and surrounding areas to the Waqf Board. There is no place for Waqf law in the Constitution given to us by Babasaheb Ambedkar, but the Congress did this to increase its vote bank
