BHOPAL: A man set his house on fire after a heated argument with his wife and casually strolled outside as the flames consumed their belongings in Anand Nagar, under the Bahodarpur police station area, Madhya Pradesh .
The man, identified as Shriram Kushwaha, had been involved in frequent arguments with his wife, Rajni Kushwaha, over personal issues.
On the day of the incident, the quarrel escalated, and in a fit of fury, Shriram dragged the household items outside, poured kerosene over them, and set them on fire.
Instead of attempting to control the situation, Shriram calmly walked around the premises, seemingly indifferent to the destruction.
As the fire engulfed the property, neighbors noticed the flames and alerted the fire brigade and police. By the time firefighters extinguished the blaze, most of the household goods were reduced to ashes.
Initial assumptions of an electrical short circuit were dismissed when the police discovered that Shriram had deliberately set the fire during the dispute.
Both the husband and wife were taken to the police station, where they received counseling.
After being reprimanded for their actions, the couple expressed remorse and pledged to avoid such extreme behavior in the future, according to sources.
“Further investigations are underway.”
