NEW DELHI: After his match-winning spell against Australia in the first Test at Perth, India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings on Wednesday, toppling Kagiso Rabada and Josh Hazlewood.
India defeated Australia by 295 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy as stand-in captain Bumrah returned with outstanding match spell of 8/72.

Prior to the Perth Test, Bumrah was ranked third. He currently has a career-high 883 ranking points, surpassing both Australian Hazlewood (860 points) and South African Rabada (872 points).
India pacer Mohammed Siraj also made progress, climbing three spots to 25th after taking five wickets against the Australians.

With a brilliant 161, Yashasvi Jaiswal jumped to second place in the batters’ standings with a career-high 825 points, trailing only England’s Joe Root (903 points).
After his 30th Test century, star batsman Virat Kohli moved up nine spots to 13th place, continuing his upward trajectory.

With 736 points, India’s wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant held onto his sixth position.
Even though they did not play against Australia in the Perth Test, the Indian duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin continued to lead the Test all-rounders list.
