Foreign terrorists communicate minimally, pose challenges: IG BSF | Srinagar News – Times of India

SRINAGAR:

Border Security Force (BSF) IG Ashok Yadav Saturday expressed concern over increasing attempts by terrorists to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir, stating that foreign terrorists pose a significant challenge to security establishments.
There is a decline in local recruitment of terrorists and a surge in involvement of foreign operatives, the IG said. “Foreign terrorists are becoming a significant concern. They have strengthened their security protocols and communicate minimally, which presents challenges. However, with collaboration among security agencies, we are adapting our strategies continuously to counter these threats,” he added.
While addressing reporters on the sidelines of a function in Srinagar, IG Yadav highlighted that infiltration bids rise ahead of winter and the force was meticulously planning operations with the Army to dominate vulnerable gaps before snowfall. Intelligence inputs indicate that terrorists are still stationed at launching pads, attempting to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in J&K, he said, adding: “However, our enhanced strategies and strong presence along the Line of Control give us confidence in thwarting such efforts.”
BSF, in tandem with intelligence agencies, is actively working to identify and dismantle terrorist hideouts and supporting networks, said IG Yadav. “We are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of our borders and citizens,” he added.
