NEW DELHI: More than 150 two-wheelers were gutted in a massive fire at the parking stand of Varanasi Cantt railway station on Friday night, officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The fire erupted near the parking area adjacent to platform one, prompting immediate action by teams from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and the fire department.

The blaze was eventually brought under control, but significant damage had already occurred, officials said.
Additional divisional railway manager Lalji Chaudhary expressed regret over the incident and confirmed that the parking stand was primarily designated for railway employees. “A lot of damage has been caused, but thankfully, there has been no loss of life,” he said.
A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire.
