Zomato, has announced a ‘special weekend’ offer for the company’s Gold membership program. Taking a subtle dig at their own CEO, Deepinder Goyal, who was recently in the news for his unusual ₹20 lakh job offer, Zomato posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing “update from CEO.”
Earlier this month, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced that he’s looking for a Chief of Staff for himself, and if one wants to work with him then that person had to pay a ₹20 lakh “fee.” and work for free. Although, he later walked back on his posting, saying the exorbitant fee was merely a “filter” and will not actually be collected.
Now, taking a jab at the same, Zomato’s social media team has quirky post up for its weekend offer that’s supposedly been approved by Chief of marketing staff, another subtle dig.
The post captioned, special offer for this weekend by chief of marketing staff, reads “ update from CEO: no need to pay us ₹20 lakh just pay us ₹30 for 6 months of Zomato gold.”
How to avail the offer? Open the Zomato app. Tap on your profile photo. You will see a banner with the special offer, and tap on that banner and complete the payment to subscribe.
Typically, the Zomato Gold subscription costs significantly more, offering users free delivery on orders over ₹199 and discounts of up to 30% at partner restaurants.
