‘Madness must be stopped’: Ukraine accuses Russian troops of burning faces of dead North Korean soldiers – Times of India

As the Russia-Ukraine war is getting worse, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday came up with a new claim against Russia alleging its troops of burning the faces of deceased North Korean soldiers to conceal their identity and hide their presence.
Taking to X, the Ukrainian president shared a 31-second video where a group of people can be seen burning what appears to be a corpse on a snow-covered slope and said in the caption, “even after years of war, when we thought the Russians could not get any more cynical, we see something even worse.”
“Russia not only sends the North Korean troops to storm Ukrainian positions, but also tries to conceal losses of these people,” he added.
Zelenskyy further added that the Russian forces tried to hide the presence of North Korean soldiers. “It was prohibited to show their faces during training. The Russians attempted to erase any video evidence of their presence,” he said.
The Ukrainian leader claimed that after first combat with forces of his country, the Russian soldiers “burnt the faces of North Korean soldiers killed in the battle.”

“This is a demonstration of disrespect, which is currently prevalent in Russia, a disrespect to everything human. There is not a single reason for North Koreans to fight and die for Putin. And even after they do, Russia has only humiliation for them,” he added.
“This madness must be stopped—stopped by a reliable and durable peace, as well as Russia’s accountability for this cynical war,” he concluded.
