DEHRADUN: At least three people died while many others sustained injuries after a roadways bus carrying around 25 passengers fell into a gorge in Nainital district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday.
The mishap was reported from Bhimtal, a popular tourist spot some 20km from Nainital following which a massive search and rescue operation was launched.
The bus was heading for Haldwani when the driver lost control over the wheels and it rolled down into the deep gorge.
“The news of the bus accident near Bhimtal is tragic. I have directed the local administration to initiate swift relief and rescue operations,” CM Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on X.
