NEW DELHI: The Bihar government on Saturday transferred 62 IPS officers in a major reshuffle, including three ADGs. The home department’s notification said that Patna SSP Rajiv Mishra, recently promoted to DIG rank, will assume the role of DIG in the Anti-Terrorist Squad.
Avakash Kumar, previously serving as Superintendent of Police in the CID, will succeed Mishra.
The notification detailed that Kundan Krishnan, who served as ADG (Headquarters), received additional responsibility of the Special Task Force (STF).
The document also confirmed Amrit Raj’s appointment as the new ADG (Securities), following his previous role as ADG (Operations) STF.
The transfers included IG (Purnea range) Rakesh Rathi’s appointment as IG of the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) in Cyber Crime.
Additionally, IG (Mithila region) Rakesh Kumar received a posting at the Bihar Human Rights Commission, whilst IG (Crime Investigation Unit) P Kannan took charge as IG (Railways).
The notification further specified that Kaimur SP Lalit Mohan Sharma would now serve as SP of Vaishali district. Araria SP Amit Ranjan received orders to move to Sitamarhi, whilst SP (East Patna) Shubank Mishra was reassigned to Bhagalpur as SP (City).
