NEW DELHI: Congress MLA Uma Thomas fell from a stadium gallery in Kochi on Sunday and is in a critical condition.
The Thrikkakara representative sustained head and spinal injuries and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Hospital sources confirmed that Thomas is in critical condition and has been placed on ventilator support. She reportedly fell from the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium gallery, hitting her head on the concrete ground.
“She is under treatment in the ICU…I have discussed this with the CM and the health minister and they will send the medical team…Experts from different departments will come and thereafter they will consult with the doctors here and decide what should be done…,” Kerala minister P Rajeev informed.
Thomas had arrived at the stadium to attend a dance program inaugurated by culture affairs minister Saji Cherian, PTI reported citing sources.
