Two bodies were discovered in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to WPLG-TV.
A JetBlue spokesperson revealed that their remains were found in the wheel well area on Monday night during a routine post-flight inspection.
The aircraft, which had flown in from John F Kennedy International Airport in New York, arrived in Fort Lauderdale shortly after 11 pm (local time).
The identities of the individuals and further details have not been released yet.
“At this time, the identities of the individuals and the circumstances surrounding how they accessed the aircraft remain under investigation,” the airlines said.
It further described this as ‘a heartbreaking situation’, adding that they will be working closely with authorities to support this investigation into their demise.
