NEW DELHI: A video showing two snow leopards playing in the Zanskar valley of Ladakh has gone viral. The rare sight became a new year delight for social media users as well as wildlife enthusiasts.
The 28-second clip shows the animals running and jumping across the snowy landscape.
The video was initially shared by tour operator Tashi Tsewang and reposted by IAS officer Supriya Sahu, who described it as a ‘fleeting dance of wild joy.’ Sahu, a 1991-batch IAS officer, serves as the additional chief secretary in the Tamil Nadu health department.
Snow leopards are rarely seen, earning them the nickname ‘ghosts of the mountains.’ This sighting is considered unique for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists.
