NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited Visakhapatnam and launched several projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore, stating that it was to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh by boosting its overall development.
“Our Andhra Pradesh is a state of possibilities and opportunities. Andhra Pradesh and the country will develop when these Andhra possibilities are fulfilled. Therefore, the development of Andhra Pradesh is our vision and the service of the people of Andhra Pradesh is our resolve,” he said.
PM Modi also spoke about the Swarna Andhra @2047 plan led by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, aiming to make Andhra Pradesh a $2.5 trillion economy by 2047. He assured that “the NDA govt of the centre will give full support to the state.”
The Prime minister praised Andhra Pradesh as a “state of possibilities and opportunities” and emphasized the importance of new technologies. “Our government views urbanization as an opportunity. We want to make Andhra Pradesh an example of new-age urbanization,” he added in his speech.
Additionally, he announced that Visakhapatnam will host one of India’s two green hydrogen hubs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to produce 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
During his visit to Visakhapatnam, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for Krishnapatnam Industrial City (KRIS City), a major project aimed to boost industrial growth and modernizse urban areas. He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has achieved 100% railway electrification and is upgrading over 70 railway stations under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Yojana.’ Additionally, seven Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains are now running in the state to improve travel for the people.
He also emphasised the importance of the blue economy, focusing on the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh to enhance trade and maritime activities. PM praised the new infrastructure and projects indicating that it will make life easier for residents and help businesses grow, supporting the state’s goal of becoming a major economic power.
